An international transcultural, Styles and ideas magazine based in Soho, NYC. Covering the latest and greatest in music, fashion, film and art. Cover stars include Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, Rihanna, Lenny Kravitz and many other cultural icons.

Famous for the yearly Black Girls Rule issue featuring the top global black models of the year. The yearly travel issue would feature a different country each time, past issues include Mexico, Jamaica, Brazil and Japan.

Trace produced advertising (advertorials) for the magazine for adidas, Nike, Moet Chandon and Absolut Vodka.

Creative Direction

As Creative Director for Trace magazine I created and managed the look and feel of the brand. I managed and over saw the art department which included the art directors, fashion and photo department. I did everything from concept and ideation for themes of entire issues with guest editors such as Iman and Spike Lee to working with celebs and their managers to produce cover stories from start to completion.

As Photo Director I averaged about 10 shoots a week. Everything from product to reportage to fashion and beauty. That's scouting the photographers, negotiating contracts, making story boards, securing locations, being the lead on set, editing images and working with pre press to ensure it would all look stellar in print.
